• The OASIS HEALING CENTRE was founded by George Gray five years age. The idea was conceived because he believed that everyone should be able to benefit from the wonderful energy of REIKI.
   

• George, who is now retired, studied the original USUI REIKI, and became a REIKI MASTER/TEACHER. He wanted to be able to bring REIKI to the general public, whether they could afford it or not. The idea of a drop in centre was a whole year in the making. Friends of George were practising different forms of alternative healing, and many said they would be willing to work at the centre, as and when they could. They were prepared to donate their time freely. The search began for a suitable location, and one was eventually found in Kingsley Hall, Kingsley Road, Debden, Essex. It was planned that it would be held on a Saturday every week, and would be open from 11o’clock until 4 o’clock, and would run entirely on donations. It has to be said that some people didn’t think it would work.
  George had decided that he would fund the centre for the first three months. Then it would be on it’s own.
  Undaunted, George gathered together, four treatment beds (which would eventually become eight beds) and the rest of the things he considered he needed to make the ambience of the hall feel right.
   

• His very good friend Andy, who is also a REIKI MASTER/TEACHER was at the centre from day one, and is still helping out whenever he can. There were a few others who began working there at the same time, A couple who are good friends, Jacci and Les, began to work with both spiritual healing and crystal healing. George really wanted to be able to provide as many forms of healing as he could, because it would offer people a choice. With an open mind, he felt it would be good for people to try as many forms of healing as possible.
  As with life, some people who first began helping at the centre, have moved on, and are doing other things, but others have come along to take their place.
  The centre has quite a few people who practice REIKI HEALING, each one using the original USUI REIKI.
   

• There is Jackie M. who practices REIKI, also INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE. She teaches Tai Chi to people with special needs during the week, as well as able-bodied people.
   

• The wonderful thing about REIKI is that anyone, with his or her heart in the right place, can do REIKI. Jackie has a daughter Claire, who unfortunately suffers from cerebral palsy, but wanted to be able to practice REIKI. She has had her first attunements, and although she cannot do hands on healing, she is very capable of carrying out healing with intent. That is to say, from her mind. You would be surprised to know that, one can actually feel the energy of reiki coming from Claire. As she is in contact with many other disabled people, the scope of her healing is quite wide, and I would have to say, it has made Claire a different person in many ways also.
   

• Jackie W. practices SPIRITUAL HEALING as well as Reiki Healing.
   

• Mandy, practices both Reiki and Spiritual Healing, added to which, she also works with crystals.
   

• Gabriella, practices REFLEXOLOGY as well as Reiki Healing, sometimes combining the two. As and when she feels it is appropriate. She is studying Aromatherapy at the moment and hopes to introduce it to the centre.
   

• Dave practices Reiki Healing, also CRYSTAL HEALING, which many people love, along with Spiritual Healing.
   

• Peter practices Reiki Healing as does our good friend Kaz, who was an osteopath in his native Russia. He now works full time in caring for the elderly, and mentally impaired.
   

• Christa and John. Peter K. Jackie and Tony, all practice Reiki Healing, and the lovely Betty, who practices Spiritual Healing.
   

• Sue, a very dear friend, teaches spiritual development, and is a medium herself. She is a trained councellor, specialising in bereavement counselling. She also does spiritual healing.
   

• Pennie, who was a fully qualified nursing sister, specialising in coronary heart care, branched out to create ACORN TO OAK EDUCATION.
  She is a REIKI MASTER/TEACHER, and carries out residential courses in teaching Reiki. She is also one of the very few Bhodi Soul Breathwork Practitioners in the country.
   

• With ACORN TO OAK EDUCATION, there are many courses to be discovered. Some of which are both Spiritual and Psychic  Development, which are really essential, if one is hoping to become a Reiki Practitioner, as it will help you to tune in properly to your guides and helpers, also the psyche of the person receiving the treatment, which can also be of tremendous help to the practitioner. George also assists Pennie in some of her classes, as he is a medium and clairvoyant. Pennie is also a homeopathic practitioner which can be very useful, when people come to the centre for specific reasons and maybe need help in other areas of their life.
   

• Great fun is to be had at the centre, because the clients, many of whom have serious problems in their life, talk to one another, share a cup of tea with each other, and very often help each other with their respective problems. In that way, everyone is helping one another, which is the way life should be. At the end of the day, we are all spirit, here on the earth plane, teaching and learning from one another.
  George’s next ambition, is to have a healing sanctuary, where he could treat people every day of the week. One that other therapists could use on a daily basis, using whatever technique is their own.
  Armed with a certificate of education, which the EEC will demand in the very near future, George will continue to teach Reiki, and pass on the knowledge he has gleaned from his guides and teachers, to help others on their own spiritual pathway.
